Taylor Swift’s longtime beau Joe Alwyn has been cast in Hulu’s next!
Joe Alwyn has become a household name since starring in The Favourite, but the English actor has been adored by Taylor Swift fans for much longer! Taylor and Joe have been in a relationship since 2016, and although the couple has kept their romance out of the public eye, we don’t see how much longer that could last!
Taylor Swift’s beau has been cast in a popular new television series, and fans are expecting the singer will share her support for him publicly. Alwyn shared the announcement in a post to Instagram today, and although his lady love liked the post in his support, she didn’t have much to say.
Joe Alwyn Has Landed A Lead Role In Conversations With Friends
After The BBC and Hulu’s success with the critically-acclaimed adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People, they’re moving on to their next project! Normal People propelled lead actors Paul Mescal (Connell) and Daisy Edgar-Jones (Marianne) into the spotlight, and the new series is expected to do the same.
The Irish author’s debut novel, Conversations With Friends will receive its own 12-part adaptation, and will be directed by Oscar-nominated Lenny Abrahamson (who also directed Normal People).
Abrahamson is adapting the drama for BBC Three in partnership with Hulu, and the streaming service has finally unveiled its cast!
Sasha Lane will play the "self-assured, outspoken and compelling" Bobbi and Jemima Kirke has been cast in the role of Nick’s wife, Melissa, who is a writer.
Whether the series will pave a new path for the careers of actors Joe Alwyn and Jemima Kirke, as it did for the stars of Normal People, we’ll discover soon!
Rooney’s debut novel released in 2017, and is set in Dublin. Conversations With Friends follows college students Frances and Bobbi, two inseparable former lovers.
They discover a strange connection with a married couple Melissa and Nick, so much so, that Frances and Nick engage in an intense, secretive affair. Frances’ new relationship eventually tests the bond between her and Bobbi, which forces her to reconsider everything she has done.
We can’t wait to see Joe Alwyn as Nick. Hopefully, one of T-Swift’s new songs makes it to the adaptation, too!
